About Me

Stephanie
My first real job was as a reporter for a small-town newspaper. I covered schools, crime, and business, some of which overlapped. The hours were long and the pay wretched, but it was great for anecdotes. Like the one where the rabid squirrel trapped two terrified hikers in a cabin. And the one where the coyote tried to steal a baby off the back porch but the mother ran screaming out of the house and hit it (the coyote, not the baby) over the head with a broom. I believe every writer should work at a small-town newspaper for a year. I'm now writing freelance articles and working on two novels: one set in early 19th Century England, the other in late 20th Century New Mexico.
