Gladioli

A few bulbs on clearance popped into the soil in May, and I get these all summer long.

      Yes, my Samsung's camera phone does something really nice with background shadows. It's obviously not the best camera around but I've wrung this effect from it a few times.

      Indeed! I am definitely doing this again next year. I tend to be a perennial-herb girl (plus a few petunias in pots), and bulbs tend to scare me, but these are wonderful.
