Do you love V-Day? It's never been a thing for me, really. I have nothing against it, it's just not the day that the commercials tell me it should be, and as far as I can tell, everyone on the planet (who is not trying to sell something) agrees.
However!
I decided this year to take Cupid by the horns. (Erm.) I have some friends who have not yet met and need to meet, and one thing we all have in common is that our husbands can't tell February 14 from July 14 or any other 14. So I've invited these friends and their families over for a casual unromantic dinner at our house, and even the planning of it involved some hilarity regarding all the canceled plans. ("WELL. He WAS going to fly me to PARIS for a moonlight dinner on the Seine with a string quartet but if you INSIST we'll come over to your house instead.") So I am happy because we are going to have so much fun tonight.

Post-Script/Update: I feel I should add that my husband, whom I might have denigrated slightly here, did end up having a dozen red roses delivered to me this morning. Dawwww.
